Day to day Itinerary

DAY 1, USA - Moscow
Depart today on an overnight jet flight to Moscow (flight not included).

DAY 2, Moscow
You’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. The balance of the day is free for independent activities and meeting your fellow travelers. AM (D) Stay at the Marriott Grand (SF)

DAY 3, Moscow
Moscow, one of the largest cities in the world, is the symbolic heart and soul of the country. Sightseeing begins at Red Square, dominated by St. Basil’s Cathedral and the massive red walls of the Kremlin. We visit the Armory; then proceed to see Moscow University and the popular Arbat shopping district. Drive on wide boulevards and stroll through GUM, the largest Russian department store. The balance of the day is at leisure. (B)

Day 4, Moscow - Novgorad
After an early breakfast, we depart for Tver, an ancient trading port nestled against the banks of the Volga. The city offers fascinating treasures, including Putevoy Dvorets, built for Catherine the Great as a stop-over on her journey from Moscow to St. Petersburg. We end the day in Novgorod, founded almost twelve centuries years ago. (B,D) Staying at the Beresta (F)

DAY 5, Novgorod - St. Petersburg
Our morning sightseeing tour of Novgorod starts at the Kremlin with a visit to St. Sophia Cathedral in the citadel. Cross the river over a pedestrian bridge to visit Yaroslav Court. In the afternoon, travel north to St. Petersburg. Upon arrival, enjoy a visit to Peter and Paul Fortress and St. Isaac’s Cathedral. (B,D) Staying at the Holiday Inn (F)

DAY 6, St. Petersburg
There are not many cities in the world that can match the grace of St. Petersburg. When Peter the Great founded the city in 1703, he hired Europe’s best architects, craftsmen and artists to build and decorate it. Spread over 100 islands linked by over 600 bridges, it is often referred to as "Venice of the North”. The morning sightseeing tour will feature the world-famous Hermitage which houses many art treasures from the Czarist era. The balance of the day is at leisure. (B)

DAY 7, St. Petersburg
Today is a day for shopping or individual activities: an optional tour to visit Petrodvorets, Peter the Great’s Summer palace, will be available. In the evening, you may take part in an optional tour featuring a folklore performance. (B)

DAY 8, St. Petersburg - USA
After breakfast, you’re transferred to the airport for your home-bound flight. (B)
