Day 1:
Depart for New Zealand. Cross the international dateline, arriving on Day 3
Day 3: Arrive Auckland, Waiheke Island :On
arrival at Auckland airport you will be met by our representative and
transferred to join your private helicopter flight across Auckland's Hauraki
Gulf to Waiheke Island, a magical island paradise in the treasure trove of
Auckland's Hauraki Gulf Islands. Then in the late afternoon enjoy a one and a
half hour Lithos Massage. Lithos Therapy uses heated and chilled rocks as
therapeutic instruments, leaving you feeling more deeply relaxed that you've
ever felt before. The rocks are strategically placed and left on parts of the
body, the therapist applies the best aromatherapy oils and then begins to
massage using the rocks in each stroke - the rocks become an extension of the
therapist's hand.
Day 4: Waiheke Island Vineyards: This morning relax and enjoy
the luxury of your north-facing suite, which has been specially designed to
maximize your enjoyment of the view. Whether you are relaxing in a plump
armchair or on the super-king-size bed, soaking in the bath, or lazing in the
sun on your private patio, the sea is always directly before you. Just imagine
it - you can watch the sun rise without leaving bed. Then later this morning
you start your privately guided tour of Waiheke Island Vineyards as you visit
three of the Island's best boutique wineries. The secrets of Waiheke's stunning
world wide success in fine reds will be revealed and you will come away with a
deep appreciation of the vintner's art. Today you also enjoy a sumptuous four
course lunch at Mudbrick Vineyard & Restaurant. Dinner this evening is an
individually tailored four-course dinner in your own private surroundings.
Day 5: Waiheke Island to Rotorua : After a leisurely breakfast
this morning, your hosts will transfer you to join the ferry to Auckland where
on arrival you collect your rental vehicle for your journey to Rotorua
today. Suburban scenery gradually gives way to the farmland of South Auckland
as you travel south to the inland city of Hamilton. Your journey then continues
through the fertile Waikato region before reaching your luxury accommodation,
nestled amidst magnificent native forests and valleys. This evening enjoy
pre-dinner drinks and canapés before a romantic dinner for two in your own
private setting.
Day 6: Mt Tarawera & Mokioa Island - Eco Extreme: Depart the
lodge today on your Squirrel helicopter and climb past the Tarawera Falls to the
summit of Mount Tarawera where you land for a walk on and around the volcanoes
highest point, enjoy expansive views of the craters formed during the 1886
eruption and the 7km’s of rift that runs the mountains length. On a fine day
views stretch from White Island 52 km’s off the Bay of Plenty coastline to the
snow covered peaks of Mount Ruapehu far to the south. Then in addition to your
Mount Tarawera Landing you land on Rotorua’s other unique landmark Mokoia
Island, home to some of our rarest native birds and steeped in local history.
Here you enjoy a guided walk through native forest and past Hinemoa’s thermal
hot pool and enjoy informed commentary about some of this area’s local history
and with a bit of luck view some of our rare Native birds including the North
Island Robin, Saddleback and Stitch bird. Enjoy a picnic lunch here before
returning to the lodge. This evening enjoy pre-dinner drinks and canapés before
joining other guests for dinner, or if you prefer a romantic dinner for two in
your own private setting.
Day 7: Rotorua to Queenstown: Time at leisure this morning
before joining your scheduled flight to Queenstown. On arrival you collect your
new rental vehicle and make your way to your accommodation. This evening enjoy
pre-dinner drinks and canapés before a enjoying a superb 3 course table d'hote
dinner in a secluded setting.
Day 8: Discover Central Otago Wines:
Late this morning you depart for an afternoon out in the
company of a senior wine guide and enjoy superb scenery, gourmet food and the
finest wine. You’ll see real drama in the scenery, hear the pristine silence of
the high country, savour the scent of pure clean air and feel the pulse of the
heart of Central Otago. Taste wines at four of the best vineyards in the
Gibbston, Bannockburn and Cromwell regions and enjoy a fascinating insight into
the region. For lunch you relax in the delightful setting of Carrick’s new
winery overlooking Bannockburn Inlet and enjoy a gourmet platter lunch. An
excellent afternoon out
Day 9: Queenstown: You're at leisure to relax or explore
Queenstown today. Whether it's bungy jumping, white-water rafting, heli-skiing,
fly-fishing, hang gliding, horse riding, jet boating or scenic flights, you will
find thrills and excitement in every way imaginable. Meanwhile, other activities
such as exploring historic Arrowtown, scenic walks, eco-tours, shopping,
galleries, cafes and an exciting nightlife provide something for everyone all
year round. This evening enjoy pre-dinner drinks and canapés before joining
other guests for dinner, or if you prefer a romantic dinner for two in your own
private setting.
Day 10: Queenstown to Christchurch: Depart Queenstown and
travel through the historic Central Otago region before arriving at the small
town of Twizel. Then continue north to arrive at Lake Tekapo before crossing
the fertile Canterbury plains to arrive in the Garden City of Christchurch. On
arrival, you will be taken to your accommodation, where the remainder of the day
is at your leisure. This evening enjoy pre-dinner drinks and canapés before
joining other guests for dinner, or if you prefer a romantic dinner for two in
your own private setting.
Day 11: Christchurch : Today is at leisure to relax or explore
Christchurch and its surrounds. There are some things that you just can't leave
the region without seeing. Whether it's a stroll around the historic Arts
Centre, just a few steps from the hotel, an exhilarating tour of the unique
Antarctic Centre or a day trip on the world renowned Tranz Alpine train journey,
each adventure will all be a memorable highlight of your visit to the
Christchurch & Canterbury region. This evening enjoy pre-dinner drinks with
canapés before enjoying your final dinner in New Zealand in privacy.
Day 12: Depart Christchurch: Sadly, your holiday is at an end
as you return your rental vehicle to the airport today for your onward flight.
